Gentiana scabra Bunge is a perennial herb of Gentianaceae and Gentiana, with a height of up to 60 cm. The rhizome is supine or erect, with many thick, slightly fleshy fibrous roots. The roots and rhizomes of gentian are used as medicine. It tastes bitter and cold. It belongs to the liver and gallbladder meridians. It has the functions of clearing away heat, drying dampness, purging liver and gallbladder, and strengthening fire. It is mainly used to treat hypertension, dizziness, tinnitus, cholecystitis, acute infectious hepatitis, vaginal wet itching, damp heat jaundice, sores, boils, carbuncles, pain of the mouth, and convulsions. It is an excellent natural solution for protecting the liver and improving gallbladder health.
