The lingzhi mushroom is a polypore fungus belonging to the genus Ganoderma. Its red-varnished, kidney-shaped cap and peripherally inserted stem give it a distinct fan-like appearance. When fresh, the lingzhi is soft, cork-like, and flat. It lacks gills on its underside and instead releases its spores via fine pores.
Reishi Mushroom Extract, also named Ganoderma Lucidum Extract, Lingzhi Mushroom extract, Red Reishi Extract, or Ganoderma Extract, is the ethanol or water extract derived from the dry fruiting body of Reishi Mushroom. The main ingredients include Polysaccharides and Triterpenes.
30% is the most commonly used concentration. Yellow-brown fine powder, Fruit Body or mycelium, Water & Ethanol used as solvents.
The Pharmacopoeia recommends 6 to 12 g daily. Available forms include:
